Dr Patricia Biello
DMV, Dipl. ACVECC
Dr. Patricia Biello is a graduate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC). Dr. Biello obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Montreal in 2009. She then completed an internship (2010), followed by a specialty internship in emergency and critical care (2011) at the “Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud” on the south shore of Montreal.

Dr Charles Boisclair
DVM, MSc, Dipl. ACVIM (oncology)
Ottawa veterinarian Dr. Charles Boisclair graduated from the Université de Montréal in 2016. He then completed a rotation in 2017 at DMV Lachine, a private practice in Montreal. He then completed his specialty rotation at the University of Guelph in 2018, where he was responsible for the radiation therapy department. Dr Sammy Boyle
Dr. Sammy Boyle graduated from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2020. She worked at the University of Minnesota caring for animals used in research for two years and then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota. After her internship she moved to Ottawa and has since been working as an Emergency Veterinarian at OAESH. In her spare time, Sammy enjoys spending time with her dog, Parker, and her cat, Wilson, collecting vinyl records, and reading.

Dr Roxanne Buck
BVSc, MMedVet (Anaes), PhD, Dipl. ECVAA
Dr. Buck obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2012. She completed a one-year, small animal internship at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital in Onderstepoort, South Africa. She then spent a few months working in small animal general practice before returning to the University of Pretoria in 2014 as a clinical assistant for her anesthetic residency.

Dr Meagan Healy
DVM
Dr. Meagan Healy is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, and has recently moved to Ottawa from the GTA to join the OAESH team. She has a pet rabbit named Bear, and a rescue dog named Murphy. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and reality TV.
Dr Romain Javard
DMV, DES, MSc, Dipl. ACVIM (Internal Medicine)
Dr. Romain Javard will be joining OAESH as our interim Internal Medicine specialist and will also be providing Cardiology services. Dr. Javard graduated from l’École Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse (France) in 2011. He did a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery (IPSAV) at the University of Montreal in 2012. He completed his training with a 3 years residency program in small animal internal medicine and he is a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine since July 2015.

Dr Aurore Laprais
DVM, CES Veterinary Dermatology, Dipl. ACVD
Dr Aurore Laprais received her degree in veterinary medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Liège, Belgium in 2011. Following her graduation, she completed a small animal internship at CHV Pommery, a private practice specialty hospital in Reims, France.

Dr Julie Lecavalier
BSc, MSc, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM (SAIM)
will be joining OAESH as our interim specialist in Internal Medicine.
Dr Julie Lecavalier obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine with honours magna cum laude from St. George’s University in 2012 after completing her clinical year at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. She was inducted in the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honour Society in 2010. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, she completed a master’s degree in veterinary science after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in animal physiology from the University of Montreal.

Dr Hélène Le Pommellet
DMV, MSc, Dipl. ACVS (SA)
Dr. Hélène Le Pommellet hails from France and obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Nantes (France) in 2008, followed by a rotating internship. She started her surgical training in Canada with a surgical internship at the DMV Centre in Montreal. She went back to France for 3 years to work 1 year in a referral center as a surgery assistant and 2 years as a surgery instructor at the University of Nantes before pursuing her surgery specialization in the USA with a clinical fellowship at Michigan State University followed by a 3 year surgery residency program at the Ohio State University.

Dr Katharine MacLean
DVM
Dr. Katharine MacLean obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2018 from Carleton University here in Ottawa. She had a special interest in animal behaviour and ecology and completed her 4th year thesis on wild fish behaviour. After graduating from Ontario Veterinary College in 2022, she chose to start her career as an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital. In her free time, Dr. MacLean enjoys travelling, cooking, playing hockey, soccer and walking her dog, Stella.
Dr Megan Perron
DVM
Dr. Megan Perron graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2016. She then moved back to her hometown of Ottawa and has since been practicing Emergency Medicine at Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital. She can often be found carrying her beagle, Amy, into the hospital through the lobby for their overnight shifts. During her spare time, Megan enjoys hiking, reading, and wildlife photography.

Dr Maya Popovic
DVM, DÉS, BSc, Dipl. AVDC
Dr. Maya Popovic obtained her veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2011. She was a general practitioner for 9 years in Ottawa prior to pursuing a residency in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery at the University of Montreal in 2020. Dr. Popovic received her board certification from the American Veterinary Dental College in 2023.

Dr Sophie Saati
DVM, DVSc, Dipl. ACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Sophie Saati graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Montreal in St-Hyacinthe in 2012. Following her graduation in veterinary medicine, she completed a rotating internship at the same institution. In 2013, Sophie joined the Animal Specialty Hospital team in Los Angeles, where she completed an internship in internal medicine.
